The Cumbria Coastal route is a multi-user route along our beautiful coastline. This stunning route has the potential to attract more visitors to our region, boost economic growth and revitalise our local communities.

As part of the Cumbria Coastal Route development project, supported by Cumberland Council through their UKSPF funding, we want to encourage businesses to get ‘CCR Ready’ which is why we are providing a range of training and support programmes for the businesses who will make the route special – that’s you!

It is an ambition for the Cumbria Coastal Route to be the most accessible coast in the country – and we need your help! At its heart, being accessible is not about costly or complicated changes, it is about providing a warm welcome, and this webinar will show you the many simple actions your business can take which will make a big difference to your visitors, such as providing up to date and honest information about what you offer so that they can decide whether your venue or activity is right for them.

Did you know?

• There are over 16 million disabled people in the UK: that’s 1 in 4 of our visitors?
• Half of all people aged over 65 have some form of accessibility requirement?
• 90% of disabled people will try to find accessibility information about a place before they visit?
• If they can’t find the information they need 62% will assume you are inaccessible and not visit?
• Only 7% of disabled people are wheelchair users?
• There are countless small changes which every business can make to improve the visitor experience for everyone?

This workshop is part of the Cumbria Coastal Route project, funded by UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund through Cumberland Council.
