Health and safety in the workplace is important to every businesses, both in terms of protecting staff and the public, and ensuring that costly legal action and damage to reputation is avoided should the worst ever happen.

The Highfield Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) has been developed to give learners a sound knowledge and understanding of health and safety. Aimed primarily at those already working as a supervisor, manager or team leader, it can also be used to train those who are preparing to start work at this level.

Topics include:

the requirements of health, safety and welfare
the benefits of a health and safety management system
the risks and control methods for common workplace hazards
the principles of risk assessment and incident investigation

How is this qualification assessed?
Multiple-choice examination.
Successful learners must achieve a score of at least 40 out of 60. Learners will achieve a Merit at 50 out of 60.
The examination will take a maximum of 2 hours to complete.
