Nawal Gebreel, a textile designer, will be sharing her passion for embroidered textiles and her incredible journey creating her collection from Afghanistan.Nawal will tell us all about her love for embroidered textiles and the amazing people she met during her visit to the border of Afghanistan.
Afghanistan is a truly unique country, made up of different ethnic groups who have passed down their culture through their textiles and crafts.
The people find meaning in their traditions, and they also express what they see around them. For example, they love their carpets and their connection to nature.
You will be able to handle some of Nawal’s textile collection and artefacts.
