Avner Avraham on the Capture of Adolf Eichmann
The Scottish Council of Jewish Communities is taking part in Holocaust Memorial Day this year by hosting a virtual evening with former Mossad Agent, Avner Avraham.
Avraham is a renowned expert on Mossad operations who famously worked to reveal and publicize the insider story of the historic capture of Eichmann. While working as a Mossad agent, Avraham discovered the original documents surrounding Eichmann's capture and trial, and, moved to share his findings with a wider audience, curated the world-famous and headline-making museum exhibition "Operation Finale: The Capture and Trial of Adolf Eichmann" and produced an accompanying documentary.
With the story, now the subject of a major motion picture – for which Avraham served as a key consultant - Avraham is in demand for his fascinating insights into this chapter of Jewish history.
The event will discuss the real history and details of the operation and trial, as well as how the operation was adapted into film and come to a close with thoughts on how we should consider Holocaust education going forward. This event will incorporate a Q&A session.
