Islington Proms: Women and Abstraction (talk) (CANCELLED)
About
Women visual artists have pursued abstraction in many forms. Some were followers, others pioneers. Though overlooked by art history in favour of their male contemporaries, they are increasingly acknowledged for their outstanding and important bodies of work. An illustrated talk by Daphne Hunter, associate lecturer in art history at Birkbeck University, will explore some fascinating examples from the early 20th-century onwards.Location
