Winners of the World Music Network's Battle of the Bands competition Oysland are a London based five piece ensemble - vocals, violin, clarinet, accordion and drums - with roots in Slovakia, Finland, Poland, Latvia and Morocco. A lively cocktail of Klezmer wedding tunes and soulful laments. A concert with dancing - all welcome, no partner or experience needed!

With 'compelling depth and authenticity' (DJ Ritu, Resonance FM) Oysland serve up a lively cocktail of wedding tunes and soulful laments. Beside a strong commitment to authenticity Oysland strive to innovate through the creation of original repertoire grounded in a deep study of tradition.  Oysland's music celebrates the multiculturalism of modern day Britain by honouring the influence other cultures have had on the secular Ashkenazi musical tradition both historically and in the present day. Oysland have performed at many public and private events throughout the UK, including: weddings, bar mitzvahs, birthday parties, folk clubs, arts centres, community centres and festivals.   The dancing will be led by local Klezmer caller Fiona Frank, who's recently returned from participating at a week long Klezmer dance workshop at the Yiddish Summer Weimar international festival
