A Handful of Books From the Life of An Editor (CANCELLED)
About
In this session Gary will talk about what an editor does, focusing on several very different book projects. These include The Man With The Midas Touch, the definitive biography of James Bond composer John Barry; Improbable Botany, a speculative fiction anthology featuring award-winning authors; and Find Another Place, a self-published family history by Bournemouth Writing Festival guest Ben Graff. Gary will also cover two award-nominated titles — I, Master Shakespeare and Dead Leaves — describing his working relationship with the Jerusalem-based novelist David Lawrence-Young and the writer/filmmaker Andrew David Barker.Gary has almost 30 years of publishing experience as both an editor and writer. He has edited over 60 professionally and self-published books for clients on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as working as an editor and writer on websites and magazines. A former judge of the Arthur C. Clarke Award, he has contributed to every issue of Writing Magazine since 1999.
