Terms and Conditions  −  2026 Arnside to Grange Cross Bay Walk

Terms and Conditions

Bookings, once made, cannot be refunded.
In the very unlikely event that the King's Guide makes the decision to cancel the walk, for safety reasons, you would be able to ask for a refund of your ticket price from Animal Care, should you so wish.

As part of the event, a film crew may be present to record the event, and photographs will be taken. If you do not wish to be filmed or photographed please do not book. By booking, you are giving your consent to possibly being filmed and/or photographed.

Part of the terms and conditions of ticket sales are that you ensure that you read and follow all the Guide Over Sands' guidelines.

Please copy and paste this URL into your browser and ensure you read them all:

All are welcome to join us on a bay walk, however you MUST be able to walk at least 9 miles at ease. The walk isn't recommended for children under the age of 5 to join a walk unless being carried all the way by their parent / guardian.

If King's Guide over Sands organisers feel that you will not be able to complete the walk, you will not be allowed to join it.
The walk starts just outside the Albion Pub on the 2nd slipway.
We recommend wearing a pair of comfortable trainers or walking boots, for the 1st 2 miles of the walk is along the headland of Arnside the terrain is rocky, muddy, sandy and wet. Once we meet the tractors the King's Guide and most of his team of Marshalls walk barefoot across the bay. A hat is also useful as the weather can be somewhat different out on the bay.
Walkers need to arrive on time to hear the King's Guide's safety briefing at the start of the walk.
Once the King's Guide's briefing has started, walkers are under his responsibility and must follow his instructions.

Late-comers will not be allowed to 'catch-up' with the group - walkers must stay with the group at all times as directed by the King's Guide.

Up to two dogs per walker can come for a fee of £5 per dog, accompanied by their owners, but they must not hassle other dogs and the walk will not stop to try to find a dog that has run off. The £5 per dog will be collected by Animal Care staff before the walk sets off.
