This event is organised by Forty Plus Cycling Club (“the Club”), which is affiliated with Cycling UK and British Cycling.
1. Nature of the Event
• This is a non-competitive social cycling event conducted on public roads.
• The Event is not a race and must not be treated as such.
• All participants must comply with the UK Highway Code and applicable traffic laws.
2. Eligibility
• Participants must be aged 18 or over on the date of the Event.
• Riders under 18 may participate only if accompanied by a responsible adult and with written parental consent.
• Registrations are personal and non-transferable without written consent from the Club.
3. Health & Personal Responsibility
• Participants confirm they are medically fit and capable of completing a group cycling ride.
• Participants are responsible for their own hydration, nutrition and wellbeing.
• Participants must withdraw if unable to continue safely.
4. Equipment & Safety
• Bicycles must be in safe, roadworthy condition.
• It is recommended that a properly fitted cycling helmet be worn at all times while riding.
• Riders must follow instructions from any ride leaders and volunteers.
5. Assumption of Risk
• Cycling on public roads involves inherent risks including interaction with other road users, road hazards, mechanical failure and weather conditions.
• Participants voluntarily accept these risks.
6. Insurance (Cycling UK & British Cycling Affiliation)
• The Club holds public liability insurance through its affiliation with Cycling UK and British Cycling.
• Such insurance is subject to the terms, conditions and limits of the relevant policy.
• Participants who are members of Cycling UK or British Cycling may benefit from individual third-party liability cover subject to their membership terms. Others are responsible for arranging their own appropriate insurance cover if desired.
• Participation is at the rider’s own risk.
7. Conduct
• Participants must ride safely, lawfully and considerately.
• Dangerous or anti-social behaviour may result in removal from the Event without refund.
8. Refunds, Event Changes or Cancellation
• Where a per rider contribution is payable it is to confirm your place on the ride. This fee helps cover organisational costs and is non-refundable, including if you are unable to attend.
• Organisers reserve the right to cancel the event due to circumstances beyond their control (e.g., extreme weather, safety concerns, government restrictions, or force majeure).
• The organisers reserve the right to alter the route, timing or format of the Event for safety or operational reasons.
9. Photography & Media
• Photographs and/or video recordings may be taken during the Event for personal use.
• Participants consent to the use of their image for club publicity and social media.
10. Data Protection
• Personal data will be processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. For this event, the Forty Plus Cycling Club is the data controller and TryBooking UK Ltd is the data processor. Information provided by entrants will be managed in accordance with their privacy policies, which are available at https://www.fortypluscc.co.uk/privacy-policy/ and https://www.trybooking.com/uk/info/privacy
• The Forty Plus Cycling Club may contact non-member entrants before and after the event with information about other club activities.
11. Governing Law
• These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

All issues relating to the sale of tickets and the hosting of their associated event(s) are the responsibility of the account holder known herein as the “Event Organiser” using the TryBooking UK Ltd website to manage this event and not that of TryBooking UK Ltd., its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, other partners and employees known herein as “TryBooking UK”. 1. TryBooking UK is not responsible for the Terms and Conditions or any other instructions or directives imposed by the Event Organiser. 2. TryBooking UK is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the purchase of this ticket. 3. TryBooking UK cannot exchange or refund this ticket. 4. The additional booking fee that may apply when purchasing tickets via the TryBooking UK Ltd website is not negotiable or refundable and can be subject to change at TryBooking UK's sole discretion. 5. A cancelled, postponed or altered event does not constitute an obligation by TryBooking UK to substitute, refund or provide other compensation monetary or otherwise. 6. Any dispute which may arise regarding the booking of this event or the way in which this event is conducted or the conditions in which this event is held is solely between the ticket holder and the Event Organiser and not a part of TryBooking UK's responsibilities.
