1. Event Entry
Entry to the Buxton Garden Trail is granted upon purchase of a valid event wristband or ticket. The wristband must be worn or the ticket presented when visiting participating gardens during the event.
2. Event Dates and Times
The Buxton Garden Trail takes place on the advertised dates and times published on the official website and promotional materials. Entry to gardens is permitted only during these stated opening hours.
3. Participating Gardens
The gardens included in the trail are private residential gardens whose owners have kindly agreed to open them to the public for the event. Visitors must respect the property, plants and privacy of garden owners and follow any instructions provided by volunteers or hosts.
4. Admission
A single ticket or wristband allows entry to all participating gardens during the event weekend. Tickets are non-transferable once used and must not be copied, reproduced or resold without permission from the organisers.
5. Children
Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. Garden environments may include uneven ground, ponds, steps or other hazards.
6. Safety and Liability
Visitors enter gardens at their own risk. While reasonable care is taken to ensure safety, the organisers and garden owners cannot accept liability for:
personal injury
loss or damage to personal belongings
accidents occurring on private property
Except where liability cannot be excluded under UK law.
7. Accessibility
Many participating gardens are located on sloped terrain, steps or uneven paths typical of Buxton’s landscape. Not all gardens may be fully accessible. Visitors are encouraged to review information provided about each garden before visiting.
8. Dogs
Dogs may only be permitted where indicated and must be kept on a short lead at all times. Garden owners may request that dogs are not brought into their garden.
9. Photography
Photography for personal use is permitted. Visitors should be respectful of garden owners’ privacy and avoid photographing people without their consent.
The organisers may take photographs during the event for promotional purposes including use on websites, social media and future marketing materials.
10. Refunds
Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled in full by the organisers.
In the event of severe weather or unforeseen circumstances that prevent some gardens opening, refunds will not normally be issued.
11. Changes to the Event
The organisers reserve the right to:
change participating gardens
amend opening times
alter event arrangements
if necessary due to weather, safety concerns or circumstances beyond their control.
12. Code of Conduct
Visitors must behave respectfully towards garden owners, volunteers and other visitors. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or ask visitors to leave if behaviour is considered unsafe, disruptive or disrespectful.
13. Use of Proceeds
Proceeds from ticket sales help support local charities and community organisations, together with the running costs of the Buxton Garden Trail.
