Terms and Conditions  −  Derwent Water Shores & Cockshot Wood Adventure Loop

Terms and Conditions of Guided Walks:

Bad Weather & Other External Factors:

Activities will generally take place regardless of the weather on the day unless the leader considers that conditions could compromise the safety of the group. No refunds will be issued if a client cancels due to weather conditions. Other factors, such as, but not limited to, landslides, flooding, footpath and rights of way restrictions, can also impact the ability to undertake a planned itinerary. As a result, changes may need to be made at the leader’s discretion. We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary or to cancel the booking where appropriate or for safety reasons.

Leader Authority & Client Behaviour:

Participants must abide by the authority of the leader. Illegal acts, disruptive behaviour, or behaviour endangering oneself or others may result in termination of participation without liability on our part. Clients must disclose medical conditions, disabilities, and maintain appropriate fitness levels for participation. Failure to comply with safety guidelines, including COVID-19 protocols, may lead to termination of participation.

Parental Responsibility:

Participants under 18 require parental or legal guardian supervision and consent. Parents must ensure understanding of the risks and fitness levels of minors. Supervision entails being always within sight and sound of the parent or guardian.

Insurance, Risk, and Liability:

Participants acknowledge inherent risks in outdoor activities and must accept personal responsibility. We hold public and professional liability insurance, but advise clients to obtain personal accident and liability insurance. We are not liable for loss or damage to personal effects during activities.

Dogs: Well-behaved dogs may join private guided walks, subject to prior arrangement.

Restrictions may apply to open group walks or navigation training. Owners must comply with landowner regulations and seasonal restrictions.

Health and Fitness:

Participants must be medically and physically fit for the activity and disclose any relevant conditions or changes in health status. Allergies and dietary requirements must be communicated in advance.

Complaints: Clients with complaints should first contact the leader.

Unresolved issues should be submitted in writing within 4 weeks of the activity. All complaints will be investigated.
