Entries:-
Open to U12 age group, to boys and girls who qualify for competition in Oxfordshire.
RULE G2 S6 UKA SUPPLEMENT
COUNTY, DISTRICT AND AREA QUALIFICATIONS
(1) English County Qualification
(i) County Championships are open to all eligible athletes possessing a County qualification.
(ii) A County qualification may be acquired as follows:
(a) By birth (see also Rule G2 S4(1)
(b) By nine month’s continuous bona fide residence in the County immediately prior to the competition.
Boys and Girls in both ages will compete alongside each other, but points scored according to age & gender categories.
Entries capped and will close once that number is reached, or at 11:59pm on Sunday 24th May, whichever is earlier.
No refunds will be made in the event of non participation in an event, or complete “no-show”.
Times:-
Competition will start at 10:00am, and you must register your arrival, collect your numbers, and be ready to start at that time, so arriving in advance with ample time is very much advised.
Competition will end approx 1:00pm, according to entries, and will be followed by presentations and awarding of medals.
All competitors will receive a certificate on the day.
Medals will be awarded for top 3 overall boys and girls, by accumulated points.
Events:-
The competition will comprise of the standard Quadrathon events - 75m Sprint, Long Jump, Vortex Throw and 600m run, with points being awarded for each, based on National Tables.
Rules:-
Competitors should have experience and understanding of each event, having trained with their Club or School.
To provide the best opportunities for all participants, we remind all that this is a County Championship, not a coaching session!
For Long Jump, all entrants will have at least one practice jump, followed by 3 jumps, which will be measured, unless a no-jump.
For Vortex, an appreciation that this is to help develop correct throwing technique in Javelin, will focus on what is or is not permissible. The elbow must remain above shoulder height. The Vortex must travel over the bicep of the throwing arm. Under-arm, or “around the side” throws are not permitted.
