Terms and Conditions
For information about this event, please contact the "Event Organiser".
These terms and conditions govern the relationship between you and Mashamshire Community Office (MCO). It is important that you read these terms and conditions carefully as they form a binding contract between you and MCO and include some limitations and exclusions of liability.
1. Booking and Payment
Full payment is required prior to your MCO Guided Walk (“the walk”) to secure your booking. Once we receive your payment and complete the booking online, the contract between us will become binding.
All participants must be aged 18 years or over, unless accompanied for the duration of the walk by a parent or legal guardian.
2. Participation statement and Personal Insurance
Our walks are adventurous activities with a risk of personal accident and/or injury. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement. Please ensure that you are aware of the levels of physical activity that will be undertaken during your walk, and that you are suitably equipped.
MCO accept no responsibility for personal accidents or injury or for loss or damage to personal effects.
We strongly recommend you have adequate personal insurance cover for accident or injury, as well as travel insurance in case of cancellation. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance cover you purchase is adequate.
All personal equipment is, at all times, carried at your own risk. We will not be responsible whatsoever for any loss of or damage to your personal equipment. We therefore recommend that your insurance policy includes cover for personal items.
3. Cancellation
Any cancellation must be notified in writing by the person who made the booking. If, after booking the walk, you would like to change to an alternative date, we will seek to accommodate any reasonable request at no additional cost (subject to availability).
Cancellations will be subject to the following charges / refunds:
More than 14 days in advance of the walk: Full Refund*
Between 14 and 2 days: 50% of the walk cost*
Less than 2 days: 100% of the walk cost*
* Apart from the original booking fee charged by trybooking.com which is non-refundable
4. Changes or Cancellation by MCO
In the event of cancellation by MCO, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid to us (this does not include the booking fee charged by trybooking.com). Liability is limited to the cost of your walk only. As above, we recommend you have adequate travel insurance in case of cancellation.
We reserve the right to cancel the walk, or amend the walk route, at any point as we deem appropriate. If a major change becomes necessary in advance of the walk, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible. It may be that cancellation of the walk or changes to the route (either before or during the walk) are required due to adverse weather conditions, fitness, injuries etc.
5. Data Protection
By making a booking with MCO you agree to MCO using your information and passing it to third parties where necessary in order to provide the walk or where required by law. MCO will store and process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Rules (2018) and we will not use your information for any purposes not connected with your booking with MCO (our privacy policy is available on our website www.visitmasham.com).
6. Complaints
In the unlikely event that you should want to make a complaint about any part of your experience with MCO, you should raise the issue as soon as possible with your walk leader. If you remain dissatisfied, you must notify MCO in writing as soon as possible and, in any case, within 14 days after the walk.
We hope you enjoy your walk in our beautiful town of Masham!
