1. Acknowledgement of Risk and Responsibility
1.1. I/we acknowledge, agree, and represent that my participation in the Event involves risks, both known and unknown, which could result in injury, illness, permanent disability, or death.
1.2. I confirm that I am in good physical health, fit to participate in the Event, and have sought medical advice where necessary.
1.3. I acknowledge that I am responsible for my personal safety and any actions or omissions during the Event.

2. Assumption of Risk
2.1. I/we acknowledge that my participation in the Event is entirely voluntary and that I accept and assume all associated risks, including those arising from the negligence of other participants, volunteers, or organisers.
2.2. I accept full responsibility for any losses, damages, or injuries that I may sustain as a result of my participation.

3. Use of Photographs and Media
3.1. I understand that photographs, video footage, or other media may be taken during the Event.
3.2. I grant the Sussex Heart Charity (SHC) permission to use my image, likeness, or photographs taken during the Event for marketing, fundraising, and promotional purposes without compensation or prior notification.

4. Conduct During the Event
4.1. I agree to conduct myself in a responsible and respectful manner throughout the Event.
4.2. I acknowledge that the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited at the event and in any area where the charity is operating.
4.3. I will comply with any instructions or guidelines provided by the organisers, marshals, or volunteers to ensure the safety of all participants.

5. Fundraising Commitments
5.1. I agree that all funds raised during my participation in the Event will be donated to the Sussex Heart Charity (SHC) in full.
5.2. I will endeavour to submit all fundraising contributions by the deadline provided by SHC, where applicable.

6. Liability Waiver and Release
6.1. I acknowledge that I have read and fully understood this waiver and release of liability.
6.2. I release and hold harmless the Sussex Heart Charity, its trustees, employees, volunteers, and agents from any claims, demands, damages, or losses arising from my participation, except where caused by negligence or wilful misconduct by SHC.

7. Data Protection
7.1. Personal data provided during registration will be handled in accordance with SHC’s privacy policy and used only for the purposes of administering the Event.
7.2. I understand that SHC may contact me regarding the Event and for future fundraising updates unless I opt out.

8. Cancellations and Changes
8.1. SHC reserves the right to cancel or modify the Event for reasons beyond its control, including adverse weather conditions or safety concerns.
8.2. In the event of cancellation, I understand that any donations or fundraising amounts collected will still be donated to SHC.

9. General Provisions
9.1. If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is deemed unlawful, void, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect.
9.2. These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
