    The meetings of the Legacy User Group in 2022 will occur monthly on alternating Sundays and Tuesdays from January to November. The meetings may be online, face-to-face or mixed mode depending on the situation at the time and this information will be updated as it becomes available.

    Are you writing your family history or don't know where to start? Join this group of family historians who go beyond names and dates to flesh out the stories behind their ancestors. Monthly meetings include presentations and discussions to aid our writing. We have optional writing assignments and in small groups we positively critique our submitted stories.     February 2022 topic - Focusing on supporting your research into your military ancestors. Bring a problem or brickwall, or come and share your successes, tips and ideas. The group is interested in all things military, including but not limited to: Any service (militia, army, airforce, navy), country, battle, era, and type of military experience including peacekeeping and resistance. Military service is not restricted to Australia or Western Australia, or in any specific time frame.

    The Scottish Special Interest Group of FamilyHistoryWA holds its meetings quarterly. Make sure you check the notes attached to the session you are booking to determine whether the session is Face-to-Face at May Street or is being held online.
  • Between Saturday 26 February 2022 and Saturday 26 November 2022
    The India and South East Asia (ISEA) Special Interest Group of FamilyHistoryWA meets in February, May, August and November. Our aim is to increase our knowledge and understanding of this area and discover information about our ancestors who lived there. In 2021, the group will be meeting online until government restrictions and the risk associated with COVID-19 has abated.
  • Between Saturday 26 February 2022 and Saturday 26 November 2022
    The DNA Special Interest Group will meet four times during 2021 following whatever restrictions are in place at the time. Information about 2021 events will be updated as the situation dictates closer to the time. Meetings will include a summary of news and updates from the testing companies. Members will also tell us their stories of research methods used to tackle brickwalls, or to confirm family trees using DNA results.

    The South Australian Special Interest Group of FamilyHistoryWA meets once a quarter to assist people with South Australian ancestry to research their family history. We also plan online sessions on Tuesday mornings in March, May and October.

    LSEW SIG meetings will occur quarterly on Saturdays in March, June, September and December. Meetings will be face to face at May Street.

    Bring your Irish specific brick wall to our "Breaking Down Brickwalls" Session, which will be held in Unit 4 May St. We will also have the use of the computers in unit 6, to put into practise some of the ideas you learn in the session. Help is at hand.
