Western Australian Genealogical Society Inc, operating as FamilyHistoryWA, is the largest society of its type in Western Australia. We have been incorporated to assist members in researching the family history in Western Australia, as well as all corners of the world.

    Our team of DNA specialists will be available for one-on-one consultations (25 minute maximum time slot) to help with any technical problems you have in accessing, understanding or using your DNA results. Bring a laptop and have all your logins and passwords with you so that you can take everything you find away with you. Please arrive 10 minutes before your chosen time slot to ensure that we are able to run smoothly.

    "A Glimpse into the history of Christian, military and government schools in India." Ainslie Sharpe will talk about some of the schools in the days of the East India Company and the Raj - starting from the earliest one, the Free School in Kidderpore, Calcutta, which morphed into St Thomas' School. As this is our last meeting for the year, after the presentation we will have a shared lunch (please bring a small plate of food to share)

  • Bring your own laptop (not tablet) and learn to interpret your DNA results using Chromosome Painting. This is not a beginners workshop. Experience in using DNA Painter is required. Requirements: you must have uploaded your DNA data to GEDmatch, MyHeritage or FamilyTree DNA; you must have painted some of your matches in DNA so that we can work on interpreting the findings. The number of attendees is strictly limited.
