Between Sunday 28 February 2021 and Sunday 28 November 2021The South Australian Special Interest Group of FamilyHistoryWA meets once a quarter to assist people with South Australian ancestry to research their family history. We also have online sessions on Tuesday mornings in March, May and October.Online

You must not come to May Street if you are waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test, have a fever, are displaying symptoms of cold or flu, or if you have been exposed to another person who may be suffering from COVID-19 or who is awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test. After our guest presentation there will be Q & A. Continue the conversations and have a coffee to complete the evening.

Between Wednesday 3 March 2021 and Wednesday 1 December 2021Are you writing your family history or don't know where to start? Join this group of family historians who go beyond names and dates to flesh out the stories behind their ancestors. Monthly meetings include presentations and discussions to aid our writing. We have optional writing assignments and in small groups we positively critique our submitted stories. Meetings in 2021 will continue to be online until government restrictions are lifted and/or it is safe to hold face to face meetings.

Monday 8 March 2021Display your family history without writing a book! How else can you tell or display your story? Bring your examples or ideas you and others might do. Bring your materials and ideas, but do not forget your chair, lunch and drink. If the weather is unfavourable an alternative COVID safe venue will be advised before the day.Ben Wright Park

Between Saturday 20 March 2021 and Saturday 4 December 2021My Ancestor Went to Sea: UK Shipping and Seafarer Records: A Case Study. Peter Hamersley will look at the records available and show how he has used them to create a career time line of his seafaring 3x gt grandfather. We will also hold our AGM at this meeting. We will need to elect committee members for 2021. All positions will be declared vacant and anyone willing to stand is welcome to come forward.

Our aim is to increase our knowledge and understanding of this area and discover information about our ancestors who lived there. In 2021, the group will meeting online until government restrictions and the risk associated with COVID-19 has abated.
