    Digging WA Death Records. Enjoy wine and cheese whilst you mix and mingle at May St before our FHWA valued member, published author and researcher Lorraine Clarke tells us stories from the WA records that highlight where and how to dig into death records in WA. There’s more time to ask questions and chat over tea, coffee and cake, before driving home safely!

    After the attending the online FHWA Orientation session, this is a face-to-face small group tour of our Research Centre. Our computer research system will be demonstrated. Participants may stay on to do their own research with assistance from FHWA library volunteers.

    For the August meeting of the Military Special Interest Group, Peter Hamersley will talk about UK Shipping Records and an index he is creating to aid researchers of United Kingdom merchant seamen records of the mid 19th century.

    The South Australian Special Interest Group of FamilyHistoryWA meets once a quarter to assist people with South Australian ancestry to research their family history. We also plan online sessions on Tuesday mornings in March, May and October.

    The meetings of the Legacy User Group in 2021 will occur monthly on alternating Sundays and Tuesdays from January to November. The meetings may be online, face-to-face or mixed mode depending on the situation at the time and this information will be updated as it becomes available.

    The India and South East Asia (ISEA) Special Interest Group of FamilyHistoryWA meets in February, May, August and November. Our aim is to increase our knowledge and understanding of this area and discover information about our ancestors who lived there. In 2021, the group will be meeting online until government restrictions and the risk associated with COVID-19 has abated.

    The DNA Special Interest Group will meet four times during 2021 following whatever restrictions are in place at the time. Information about 2021 events will be updated as the situation dictates closer to the time.

    Are you writing your family history or don't know where to start? Join this group of family historians who go beyond names and dates to flesh out the stories behind their ancestors. Monthly meetings include presentations and discussions to aid our writing. We have optional writing assignments and in small groups we positively critique our submitted stories.     Saturday 19 June 2021 11am Mal Parr will present Photos and Postcards of Old London. LSEW SIG meetings will occur quarterly on Saturdays in June, September, December and March.
