Yvette Stanton is an embroidery designer, tutor and author of embroidery books. She specialises in whitework embroidery, but teaches a wide range of embroidery techniques. Yvette is left-handed (which her left-handed students love!) but instructs both left- and right-handed.

Frisian Whitework Silk Sampler Workshop

Frisian whitework comes from Friesland in the Netherlands. It is counted embroidery, where the placement of the stitches is determined by counting the fabric's threads. This sampler is in the style of Frisian whitework samplers that were often worked in colour to provide interest for the young girls making them. All skill levels are welcome! 2 day class. 9-4pm daily. Short morning tea break and 3/4 hour lunch break. Included in the cost are tuition, morning tea, and project supplies.

Parterre Hardanger Stitching Accessories Set Workshop

Learn to make a beautiful set of Hardanger stitching accessories with a needlebook, pincushion and scissor fob. We will be working on 28 count linen fabric, with traditional linen thread and traditional Hardanger stitches. All skill levels are welcome! 2 day class. 9-4pm daily. Sardinian Knotted Embroidery for Beginners Workshop

Sardinian knotted embroidery comes from the town of Teulada in southern Sardinia. It is an extremely unusual style of embroidery, worked almost entirely from the front of the fabric. The stitch itself is not very hard, but putting it in the right place can be. This workshop takes you through the basics, building skills from straight lines until you can create wiggly lines with lots of detail. All skill levels are welcome! 2 day class. 9-4pm daily. Mountmellick Embroidery Workshop

Mountmellick embroidery is a style of floral whitework embroidery from Ireland. It uses white thread on white fabric and a range of knotted and padded stitches to create rich and sumptuous embroidery. Two projects will be offered: Pomegranate Biscornu and Wildflower Cushion. The stitches will be learned and the project started in class. There will also be a demonstration of the knitted fringe. All skill levels are welcome - even beginners! 2 day class. 9-4pm daily. 1 hour lunch break.
