FRANK YAMMA w/ special guest David Bridie (SOLD OUT)
w/ support PIRRITU
SUN 04 FEB 2024: Doors 2pm, Show 2.30pm
@ The Archies Creek Hall
Frank Yamma is one of Australia’s most significant Indigenous songwriters with an ability to cross cultural and musical boundaries. An initiated Pitjantjatjara man, Frank sings in his native language and English.
His mighty songs, magical guitar playing, and deeply evocative voice tell stories of country, protection, heartache, travel and love.
Although he’s lived in Adelaide for many years, Frank’s spirit belongs to the heart of Australia. Uluru. Docker River. Ernabella. Central Australia. As Frank says, “wherever the Pitjantjatjara mob come from”.
Frank will be bringing his powerful storytelling to the Caravan Music Club for one performance only and will be accompanied by David Bridie
Pirritu’s music is a gentle, honest, and melodic personal journey that entices you into the depths of sadness, love, and shimmering hope. With two album releases under his belt, The song man’s work honours a cultural journey to connect back to land, language, and family with a continual thirst for a deeper understanding of his people and country. Pirritu’s music features folk instrumentation weaving amongst his unique vocals like the gentle wind and waters that the Ngiyampaa man sings of.
