GCSE Booster Revision programme at Downside - Maths

Starting February 23rd Downside School warmly invites pupils for additional GCSE tuition to students in the local community. Whether you need a confidence boost or extra exam practice, our experienced teachers are here to help. Sessions run Monday - Thursday 17.10-18.10 in English, Chemistry, Spanish, French, Physics, Mathematics. (Minimum of 3 pupils required for classes to run).This GCSE Maths Booster course is delivered by Mr D Bryson and Dr J Tapia Amador, two highly experienced mathematics specialists with extensive teaching, examination, and academic experience.
Mr Bryson has over three decades of experience as a school teacher and holds a BSc (Hons), BDA Dyscalculia Level 3 qualification, and the NPQH. He has taught Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A throughout his career and is a specialist teacher in Dyscalculia and Maths Learning Difficulties, with a strong focus on building mathematical confidence and understanding for students who may find the subject challenging.
Dr Tapia Amador holds a BSc (Hons) and a PhD, and has over a decade of teaching experience. He has taught Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A, as well as Mathematics and Further Mathematics (OCR MEI). He is also an experienced GCSE and A Level examiner, providing valuable insight into exam expectations, mark schemes, and effective problem-solving strategies. Dr Tapia Amador teaches in both English and Spanish, offering additional clarity where helpful.
Together, they bring a balanced combination of exam expertise, subject knowledge, and supportive teaching approaches. The sessions will focus on strengthening core mathematical skills, improving problem-solving techniques, and developing exam confidence through targeted practice and clear explanation.
The course is designed to support students of a wide range of abilities, helping them consolidate understanding and approach their GCSE Mathematics examinations with greater confidence.
