About
This training builds further understanding of childhood bereavement, including levels of need and identifying those who may need extra support. It explores healthy grieving and practical approaches to individual and group support.The aim of this training is to provide participants with:
A brief reflection on key grief theories and what we know about childhood bereavement
An exploration of different levels of need and identifying children and young people who may require additional support
Understanding what healthy grieving can look like in children and young people
Key principles for effective bereavement support
Practical approaches to providing individual support for grieving children and young people
Approaches to delivering group support for bereaved children and young people
An understanding of the importance of self-care and reflective practice when supporting bereaved children and young people
Who is this training for?
This training is suitable for a wide range of professionals working across education, social care, health, and the voluntary sector. It is designed for those who come into direct contact with children, young people, and families who have been bereaved or are facing the death of a loved one.
PLEASE NOTE: Sessions will either be focused on children (ages 4 -10) or young people (age 11+) please ensure you book the appropriate session for the age group you work with.
