Pioneering Skills Workshop 2023
A Hands-On Practical Skills Workshop teaching fundamental and intermediate skills for Pioneering, commencing with Knots and Lashings, progressing onto how rope is made and care of rope, use of pickets, anchors and block’n’tackle.
Safety in Pioneering precedes practicing skills passed over by constructing small, intermediate, and major pioneering projects.
Guided by an experienced and enthusiastic team of Pioneers, the skills passed over are designed to:
- ‘Train-the-Trainer’ to teach the Cub Scout, Scout & Explorer Scout Pioneer Activity Badges.
- provide an introduction to Pioneering suitable for Beaver Scouts via crafts and games.
Open to all adults in Scouting and Guiding (Managers, Leaders, Adult Supporters plus Scout Network/Senior Section), having little or no experience. For those wishing to upgrade skills there is plenty on offer.
