About
Welcome to our 2026 IWD Charity Dinner. The IWD theme for this year is “Give To Gain”, encouraging a mindset of generosity and collaboration.Give To Gain emphasizes the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organisations and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase. Giving is not a subtraction, it's intentional multiplication. When women thrive, we all rise.
We are thrilled to announce our Guest Speaker for the event is Ruth E Wilson OAM - Author, Aviator, Adventurer. Ruth was the first female balloon pilot in Australia to establish her own commercial ballooning company solo in 1976. Three years later she became the first national ballooning champion, going on to represent her country at six World Championships.
Ruth's life story is an incredible journey of resilience and courage that led her to conquer the skies. Ruth shares her life story throughout her memoir ‘Conquering Clouds’, Second Edition published late 2024 (available to purchase on the night). During her 50 years as a pilot Ruth lived a life, understanding that to ‘Give to Gain’ brought immense rewards to all.
This year our major beneficiary will be The Women's Healing Sanctuary, as well as other non-profit organisations in the local Port Stephens area. Women’s Healing Sanctuary is a not-for-profit charity located on six acres in Port Stephens. They provide short term retreat accommodation including meals for women experiencing distress due to physical or emotional exhaustion, abuse, grief, loss or trauma. They believe every woman deserves a chance to rest, heal, and restore energy and well-being regardless of her financial situation. We are so please to be able to support this amazing organisation.
We look forward to you joining us for this amazing event!
