Written by Mary J O’Malley in 1979, set in 1957, Once A Catholic is an uproarious comedy poking fun at the Catholic church and the nuns in its schools who cowed and confused successive generations of girls with the combined threat of everlasting hellfire and a secretarial career. The girls get into all sort of trouble throughout the play, including being led astray by their boyfriends Cuthbert and Derek.
