Soundstream Collective brings together some of Australia’s virtuosi players in a concert featuring wind quintets by Uhl, Ligeti and Barber. All three composers found their voices in this genre in surprisingly different ways. While respecting their 19th century musical ancestry, they distilled out of the turmoil of the 20th century's socio-political cauldron, innovative, sometimes challenging, but always intriguing soundscapes that have imparted new spirit to the ageless phenomenon of music.
