Internationally acclaimed composer Brett Dean’s first full-length opera Bliss, based on the novel by Peter Carey, was premiered recently in a highly acclaimed production by Opera Australia
In this open lecture, Brett will discuss the process of transforming the novel into a libretto, and finally into an opera. Extracts from the original Peter Carey novel will be read as part of the talk and Brett will respond to questions from the audience.
