Join us, alongside Sharon Kangisser, as we explore the diary of Holocaust child-survivor and renowned artist Yehuda Bacon.
ABOUT YEHUDA BACON:
Yehuda Bacon was born in Ostrava, Czech Republic in 1929. In 1942, at the age of 13, Bacon was deported to Terezin with his family, before being moved to Auschwitz-Birkenau. In Theresienstadt he played in the children's opera Brundibár. In 1946 he immigrated to Israel, studying at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, and becoming a professor.
ABOUT SHARON KANGISSER:
Originally from Sydney, Sharon is based in Israel and is Editor-in-Chief of Yad Vashem Studies and the Director of the Eli and Diana Zborowski Centre for the Study of the Aftermath of the Holocaust at the International Institute for Holocaust Research at Yad Vashem. She is a child survivor expert and has published the post-war diaries of Holocaust survivor Yehuda Bacon.
