Join the Hobart Orpheus Choir for a program of joyful twentieth century music, conducted by musical director Madeleine Dyer, with organist Rod Thomson and pianist Ben Young.Our program includes the Kodaly ‘Missa Brevis’ featuring choir and organ. This ethereal work is thought to have been composed as Kodaly sheltered in a cellar during the prolonged WW2 bombardment of Budapest.
We are also singing three other works-Britten’s ‘Rejoice in the Lamb’, Vaughan-Williams ‘Let all the World in Every Corner Sing’ and Rutter’s ‘For the Beauty of the Earth’.
