Gas and spontaneous combustion management in a longwall goaf

The forum is hosted by the Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee and will cover the operational aspects of longwall ventilation, gas management, managing oxygen in the goaf, inertisation, mine design, representative monitoring and effective TARPs, emergency sealing and re-entry, and controls.It will provide an opportunity for coal mining stakeholders and statutory position holders in underground coal mines to share leading practice and learn together and will focus on the lessons worth sharing and our experiences and knowledge associated with managing the events related to goaf management, including spontaneous combustion.
There will be presentations from Resources Safety and Health Queensland, NSW Resources Regulator, Simtars, B3 Mining Services (Basil Beamish), Queensland Mines Rescue Service and underground coal mine operators around Queensland.
This is a free event and attendance can be used towards the coal mining Practising Certificate Scheme.
