The 50 Years of Fleetwood Mac tribute show feels less like a nostalgic re-enactment and more

like a living, breathing celebration of one of the great songbooks in modern music. A rotating

line-up of musicians from some of Australia’s greatest bands include The Whitlam’s, Badloves

and Baby Animals take turns on stage, each bringing their own personality while clearly

honouring the spirit of the originals. From the opening notes of “The Chain”, the room was

locked in, its iconic bass line drawing a collective cheer. “Dreams” drifted by with effortless

grace, while “Rhiannon” built into something raw and spellbinding.

There was joy in the swagger of “Go Your Own Way”, tenderness in “Landslide”, and a

communal warmth when the crowd sang every word of “Don’t Stop” back at the band. Rather

than mimicry, the performers leaned into interpretation, letting their own histories shape the

songs while keeping the emotional core intact.

What stood out most was the sense of shared reverence — musicians clearly playing music

that changed their lives, and an audience deeply connected to every chorus. By the final

encore, it was obvious why these songs endure: they’re elastic, emotional, and endlessly

powerful when passed between voices, generations, and stages like this.

Every time I play a Fleetwood Mac song it feels like stepping into a living , breathing story. The

songs are timeless, the harmonies are magic and there’s so much emotion the music that it

never gets old. There’s a reason why Rumours was the biggest selling vinyl album of 2025 ,
