Introduction to Lino Printing

Learn the basics of lino printing in this 8-week course. You’ll learn how to create a simple design, transfer it onto lino, safely use carving tools, ink your lino and create your own prints.

Throughout the course, you’ll have the chance to experiment with different marks, textures and printing techniques while working on your own designs.

Suitable for beginners. No previous experience is needed.

What to Bring

For the first class, you don’t need to bring too much:

• One piece of grey lino
• One or two lino cutting tools

If you’re not sure which lino tools to buy, that’s okay. Astrid will have some tools available for you to try before you decide what works best for you.

Over the 8-week course, you’ll explore different types of lino and printing papers. Astrid will make suggestions and give you time to experiment, so you can gradually choose and purchase the materials you prefer.
