It has been almost half century since the Ankoku Butoh（暗黒舞踏） first appeared in the post WWII turmoils in Tokyo. It will mark the 30th memorial anniversary next year after the late Tatsumi Hijikata, the founder of the Ankoku Butoh passed away. How has Butoh evolved since then and why Ankoku Butoh continues to attract, challenge and confront us, human beings. What is the essence of the Ankoku Butoh that is hidden behind the everlasting moment.
