A bundle of delights awaits you in northern Italy from Fri 18 - Thursday 24 May. Join Éva-Marie Lind and Dr E. Joy Bowles for a unique immersive experience in the medieval village of Vallebona, the home of NOA Academy and La Vecchia Distilleria. Visit this traditional Italian perfumery distilleria and pick and distil your own neroli or rose oil. Attendees will share in the think-tank Future of Aromatherapy, and then do Dr Joy's two courses: Inside Aromatherapy and Aromachemistry with Dr Joy.
For the first time in Europe, Master Perfumer, Éva-Marie Lind is offering the introductory module of her NOA Academy course The Italian Heritage Flowers of Perfume - focusing on orange-blossom and roses. The course is being launched at the Institute of Art and Olfaction, California, on 31 March 2018. From Friday 18 - Sun 20 May, we will be immersed in the culture and customs of the medieval Italian village of Vallebona in Italy's Liguria province, where traditional flower distillation practices are still observed at La Vecchia Distilleria owned and operated by Pietro di Guglielmi. We will visit the perfumery flower farm and distillery and harvest and distil our own neroli or rose oils.
On Monday 21 May, we will meet in an open-hearted space to envision the Future of Aromatherapy, the first of a series of think-tanks Dr Joy will be hosting around the world.
And to bring your brain fully up to speed, follow all this lusciousness with two of Dr Joy's acclaimed workshops, Inside Aromatherapy (Tues 22 May) and AromaChemistry With Dr Joy (Wed 23 & Thurs 24 May), offered for the first time in Europe this May!
Location
The closest airport is Nice, France, so make sure you have your visas for both France and Italy (unless you plan to fly into an Italian city, of course). Vallebona is about an hour's drive east of Nice, or jump on a train to Bordighera (about 1.5 hours from Nice) and we can arrange to come and pick you up from the train station to take you to Vallebona.
ACCOMODATION
Please book your own accommodation in the town of Vallebona. All classes and the think-tank will start at the NOA Academy learning space.
REGISTRATION CURRENCY Please note that all registration fees are charged in Australian Dollars (AUD). At present the conversion rate to Euros is to multiply by 0.62 and to convert to US Dollars (USD) multiply by 0.77.
WHAT TO BRING
- Notebook and pencil (sketch-book and pastels if you like!)
- Camera
- Comfortable walking shoes (for the country-side hike to the distillery)
- Swimming costume (just in case)
- Something sparkly to wear for the Think-Tank dinner at Restaurante Il Giardino
- A good sense of humour, and willingness to be amazed.
