The Spring Garden Tour for 2018 will visit two very special private gardens, the first in Montrose for morning tea, followed by Como Gardens in The Basin. A two course lunch will be served in the Mist Function Room at the incredible Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens, where you will be free to enjoy a self-guided tour as time permits.

The Spring Garden Tour includes morning tea, entry to each of the gardens, lunch, glass of winte, our regular bus raffles and gift bag.

Bring your friends & help fill our bus, but get in early as seats fill quickly!

COST: $70 (inclusive of transport, tours, morning tea & lunch)

ITINERARY 

(May be subject to minor alterations)
 
8.30am - Arrive at Tintern Bus Bay ready to board Ventura bus (Cnr Morinda/Loma Streets, East Ringwood).
As parking is limited within the Transport Centre, attendees are requested to park in adjoining streets. Please remember to check parking signs.
 
8.45am (Sharp) - Bus leaves Tintern Grammar. During the trip a short narrative of the gardens will take place together
with raffle ticket sales.
 
9.00am - Arrive at first private garden in Montrose for a guided tour and morning tea.
 
10.15am - Depart by bus to the next private garden in The Basin.
 
10.30am - Arrival and time to explore Como Garden.
 
11.30am - Bus departs to Dandenong Ranges.
 
12.00noon - Arrival at the The Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens (formerly National Rhododendron Gardens)
 
12.15pm - Two course lunch served in the Mist function room and a self guided through the gardens.
 
Please note that tea, coffee, glass of wine and limited soft drinks are included. Other drinks available for purchase at the bar.
 
2.30pm - Depart Botanic Gardens to return to Tintern.
 
3.00pm - Arrival back at Tintern Bus Bay.
 
Please note: The gardens may not be suitable for walking frames.


TOUR CONSIDERATIONS

Terms & Conditions

Please read the following carefully as purchase of tickets indicates acceptance of these terms and conditions.

 

Physical Endurance
It is suggested a good degree of fitness is required to manage the gardens in this tour. Steps or climbing slopes access many sites and some have uneven terrain. Seating and rest areas may be available. There will be limited access to toilets at times, however we will accommodate you where possible. Please ensure you can carry your own bags.

Tour departure times
It is the responsibility of the participant to arrive at the bus by the designated time the bus is scheduled to leave for each part of the tour. If participants are not on the bus at the scheduled time of departure their return to the next garden or Tintern will be at their own responsibility and cost.

This exclusive event offers only 55 places.

Transportation in air-conditioned coach
Entrance fees to all sites
Morning Tea

Lunch, including tea, coffee and limited soft drink. Other beverages are available for purchase from the bar.
For special dietary requirements, please note through the booking process. Tintern cannot guarantee that traces of items that you may be allergic to, are not present in food or drink you are served, or other substances you may come into contact with, although every endeavor will be made to ensure this via communication with the food providers.

Please note this event is a Tintern community and fund raising day arranged by a Tintern volunteer parent.

Tour Price Does Not Include
Personal spending money for additional items or plants. Not all sites will have credit card facilities.

Clothing Requirements
It is suggested good quality walking shoes are worn. Tours will continue each day regardless of weather, so please dress accordingly. A raincoat or waterproof jacket is recommended in the event of rain, use of umbrellas is cumbersome and difficult to manage getting in and out of the bus. October can also be quite warm, so it is advisable to bring a sun hat, sunglasses and sun cream.

Refunds and Cancellations
Refunds and cancellations are not available on tickets purchased. Tickets are transferrable to another person; please contact us prior to the tour to allow time for the necessary documentation changes.
