About

Circle Singing is discovering your vocal expression through improvisation, movement and experimentation. You don’t have to call yourself a singer to be a part of the circle. It is about being in a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your creative potential. Circle singing doesn’t require perfection, rather a willingness to connect deeply with your voice, sing with an open heart and listen with big ears! Be prepared to be open minded, be prepared to take risks, be prepared to be ridiculous, and be prepared for the unknown!
Bonnie Smith is a singer, composer, piano player and guitarist. World music extraordinaire, she sings in Spanish, French, Portuguese, Turkish and English. She has travelled extensively throughout the Americas and Europe where she has taken her music on the road. She is one of the primary vocal teachers at Melbourne Polytechnic and lead facilitator of “Circle Singing”, which explores the art of improvising in the moment. With over ten years of experience teaching to adults and children, she understands the journey of music as a self-help tool and loves teaching for fun and joy. She relishes in the benefits singing and music can provide to gain a deeper sense of connection to one’s self and others.
