Ivan Aristeguieta is an award-winning stand-up comedian, writer and performer originally from Caracas’, Venezuela.
For 10 years now he has been living amongst Australians, observing you, learning about you, and making a very good living taking the piss out of you. He is a true blue, dinky-di Venez-stralian. Nah, she’ll be right! (Who is she by the way?).
Ivan has performed all over the world, from South America to the US, Canada, Japan, NZ and the UK, featuring on and headlining some of the biggest comedy festivals and rooms.
You may have seen him on the telly or online, performing at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala (2016-2022), as well as the Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival, or as guest panelist on shows including Have You Been Paying Attention?, The Project, The Weekly, Hughesy We Have A Problem and The Living Room.
“Skillful timing, energised delivery and supreme likeability… near sublime routines could have come from Jerry Seinfeld.”★★★★ ~ Chortle ~
He Huang grew up in a small town of Chongqing, China, a mountainous region, where her family had lived for generations with a strong passion for drinking, cursing and gambling.
Turns out it was the perfect setting to start a life in stand-up comedy, and after travelling the world – uni in Beijing, a Masters in Washinton DC – she found herself in Australia. He auditioned for Australia’s Got Talent, with her stand-up routine becoming a viral sensation, with over 60 million views globally.
More success followed with appearances on the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Just For Laughs TV galas, and her full hour comedy tour, Bad Bitch, breaking sales records at Perth’s Fringe World, culminating in a Best Newcomer nomination at the 2023 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and winning Best Newcomer at the 2023 Sydney Comedy Festival.
She has appeared on ABC, Channel 7, SBS and in 2023, made her debut on Network 10’s Thank God You’re Here. He’s irreverent blend of dry wit, sarcasm and hilarious observations of family life, cultural differences and language have made her a fan favourite. He is just very thankful that her parents don’t speak English.
