Join MYLI for a special author talk with Peter FitzSimons AM at Phillip Island Library as he discusses his new book, The Courageous Life of Weary Dunlop.
Best-selling author Peter FitzSimons AM will share the story behind his latest book, The Courageous Life of Weary Dunlop, an extraordinary tale of courage, endurance, and compassion. Discover the life of Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop, the Australian surgeon whose leadership and bravery saved thousands of lives as a prisoner-of-war on the Thai-Burma Railway during World War II. Hear what inspired Peter to tell this story and how he brought one of Australia’s most remarkable figures to life.
Peter FitzSimons’ passion is to tell Australian stories; our own stories, of great men and women and the stirring events in our history. He is one of Australia’s most respected writers, known for Breaker Morant, Burke and Wills, Monash’s Masterpiece, Kokoda, Ned Kelly, and Gallipoli.Books will be available to purchase and sign at the event through Turn the Page Bookshop.
