A gentle meander through history that will reignite your passion for this most picturesque 'English Resort Town'.This walking tour explores John Norton Oxley's 1859 first subdivision of Bowral from the railway station to St Jude's Church and answers the question who built this town and how did they live? Learn about the towns long characters including Adam Windsor, Bowral's first resident, Adolphe Dupuis a Frenchman who ran the local grocery store and Augustus Neich, who built the Grand Hotel. Learn the meaning behind the indigenous street names, the central roles of the Church and uncover evidence of early industry and commerce from stables to eclectic cafes.
