Originating the roles of Ko Ko (The Mikado), the Major General (Pirates of Penzance) and the Lord Chancellor (Iolanthe) amongst many others, his artistry led to them becoming known as the ‘Vernon roles’ in Australia. Kevin Hewitt is a self-confessed Gilbert & Sullivan fanatic, having performed in the operettas since 1969 including productions in Fiji and Papua New Guinea. He boasts Australia’s largest collection of Gilbert & Sullivan related printed matter.
