Judith Dunn OAMJudith has a passion for Australian History and holds a Fellowship in Colonial History. She is Past President of the Parramatta & District Historical Society and a Director of the Royal Australian Historical Society.
Her first presentation will be "Colonial Ladies - Lovely, Lively and Lamentable Loose"
Then later in the day she will present "Unknown Women Pioneers"
In these presentations Judith brings to life the diverse women who shaped the colony's early days.
Christine Yeats
Christine is a semi-retired professional archivist who spent more than 35 years working in the government archives sector, retiring as Manager of Public Access at State Records NSW. In her presentation "The Jessie Street National Women's Library" she offers a facinating insight into this specialist library dedicated to preserving the history of Australian women's work, words and history.
Christine Hingerty
Christine is a regular presenter for The Society of Australian Genealogists (SAG) and leads the SAG Genetic Genealogy Advisory Group. She began using genetic genealogy to find her adoptee husband's biological family and to solve long-standing family mysteries. In her presentation "Decoding mtDNA" Christine explains mitochondrial DNA testing, and how it can assist genealogical research.
