Maiden Voyage: Works for Violin and Piano

Maiden Voyage: Works for Violin and Piano

Violinist Kyla Matsuura-Miller and pianist Adam McMillan, winners of the MRC Great Romantics 2017 Competition, perform a program of Bach, Healey, and Strauss. Each composer on the program holds a special place in their hearts, from the vigour of Bach, to the fantasy of Australian composer Christopher Healey, and finally the passion and tenderness of Strauss.

Kyla Matsuura-Miller and Adam McMillan have built a musical partnership through many years spent studying alongside one another at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM). Over the past five years they have performed numerous private and public recitals together, and in 2017 were the winners of the MRC Great Romantics Competition with their performance of the Franck Sonata.
