The Mornington Peninsula Shire covers approximately 720 square kilometres of land with a coastline that extends over 192 kilometres and encompasses approximately 10% of Victoria’s coastline.
70% of the Shire is Green Wedge which provides for conservation of the natural environment, access to informal outdoor recreation and vital employment through farming, tourism and many small businesses.
The Green Wedge Summit coincides with the exhibition of the draft 2018 Green Wedge Management Plan for public comment.
Speakers at the Green Wedge Summit will include:

- Michael Buxton, a former professor of Environment and Planning at the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies, RMIT University
- Dr. Rachel Carey from Melbourne University, a Lecturer and Research Fellow in food policy and sustainable food systems Foodprint Melbourne project
- Tracey Cooper, Chair of the Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism Board
- Christine Haydon, Co-founder, Peninsula Speaks
- Sheryn Mock, 5th generation orchardist Mock Orchards.
