Young people aged 11–15 are invited to join Nook Dance & The Philosophy Club for a unique small-group experience in the summer holidays, as we explore the theme of 'Future Humans'. Join us as we dance our way into a philosophical inquiry...
Would you interface your brain with someone else's and receive their thoughts without words? What if they could control your body? If we could breed a more ethical generation of human beings, should we do it? Through movement, music and creativity prompts, we'll explore big questions with thoughtfulness, physicality, and a dash of silliness!

Get ready for... connecting with other young people –– moving with purpose –– co-creating scenarios –– wondering about big questions –– having animated discussions –– dreaming up ideas –– experimenting with narratives –– dancing your heart out –– making new friends –– going a tiny bit wild!
All bodies, genders, and experience levels welcome.
Presented by expert facilitators Tammy McLinden (Nook Dance Centre) & Michelle Sowey (The Philosophy Club)
- Tammy believes that dance plays a changing role in life as we develop and grow, but it always provides invaluable lessons that have little to do with pointing our toes. Tammy's extensive dance education has provided her with the benefits of confidence, resilience, receptiveness to feedback, and many wonderful friendships. - Michelle uses a process of collaborative inquiry to ignite young people's curiosity and deepen their understanding. She takes pride in creating playful and intriguing multimedia stimuli that provoke thinking and make philosophical thinking accessible to everyone. Her passion is supporting dialogue in which young people really listen and respond to one another, express their views openly and respectfully, and decide for themselves what to believe. Young people will enjoy this inspiring, light-filled space with leafy views for quiet contemplation (plus neon disco lights for exuberant dancing!)

COVID SAFETY
All participants must be double vaccinated (unless a medical exemption applies).
COST
Early bird: $99 per child (includes booking fee) if booked by Monday 2nd January.
BOOKINGS
We encourage early booking as places are strictly limited.
Please note: there is a limit of two children per booking.
After booking, we will ask you to complete a Health and Safety Consent form prior to the event.
