Tiridate has waged a bloody war against Radamisto and now holds his father Farasmane as prisoner. As he prepares for the final assault, he threatens to destroy Radamisto's entire family and to take his wife Zenobia as his bride. Believing all hope is lost, Radamisto plots his revenge on the tyrant.
