About
The inaugural Inter-Dojo Friendship Tournament is a tournament between the Cummings Karate Dojo, ACT Shotokan, Kenbukan Australia, and Tora Shotokan. For 2019, the tournament will consist of Kata only, and be restricted to students under 16.
All ages and experience levels are welcome. Students must, however, be able to complete one full kata.
Timings
The Tournament's official start time will be 9:00am. All competitors should be prepared to arrive at the venue by 8:30am for check-in. However, so that we can reduce "downtime" the tournament start-time will be specifically designated for each competitor group. Competitors will receive an email no later than Friday 16 August 4:00pm with their specific event start time. The day should conclude no later than 1:00pm, depending on competitor numbers.
Registration closes at 11.59pm on Wed 13 August.
Rules
Summary: The tournament will be held in a double-elimination format, meaning all students will get to perform twice throughout their round/category. The tournament will be held using the flag-based scoring system, and will endeavour to be informal and relaxed in nature, taking into account that competitors will be from different styles and dojo. 1st to 3rd Place will be awarded in each category and competitors will receive a medal. All competitors will receive a Certificate of Participation.
