This round's topic: 'Scientists Should Rule the World'. 

Cool. Calm. Collected. Evidence Based. Scientists are people you can trust, right? Nothing puts a populace’s mind at ease like a lab coat and a sensibly coloured pie chart. Who better to have in charge of everything?

How much better would government be if in the hands of scientists! Double blinded diplomacy. Peer reviewed Policy. Randomised controlled caucus. 

As we know scientists are selfless, humble, objective, and committed to the greater good. What discipline could better be vested with the responsibilities and the rewards of the ultimate positions of power?

After all, scientists have never got it wrong. Good thing they warned us about Y2K. And we learned through phrenology that the bigger your head the smarter you are! And we’re definitely going to nut out cold fusion any day now. And scientists always have the best interests of humanity at heart! Right? We’ll quickly just step over Einstein’s contribution to the Atomic bomb. And possibly Midgeley’s CFC’s. And the inventor of the Selfie stick.

If we trust in science, we can trust in scientists. Or can we?

Come drink, dine, and watch a gaggle of scientists and comedians twists themselves in knots as they try to convince you to vote 1 Science next election. Or otherwise.
