About
Canticum’s Good Friday Musical Meditation has become a much-anticipated event in Brisbane’s musical calendar. In this year’s concert, repertoire from the Baroque to the present day captures the emotion of the occasion. Music by Zelenka, often dubbed the ‘Czech Bach’, contrasts modern works by Catalan composer Pablo Casals, Poland’s Paweł Łukaszewski, and England’s Herbert Howells. Central to the concert is Bach’s motet for double choir "Komm, Jesu komm".
