About

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck Directed by Geoff Brittain
Classic drama, set in California in the mid-1930s - the depression years. George, an affable migrant farm worker, and Lennie, a towering simple-minded humble young man, bound by George's devotion and Lennie's "pathetic helplessness" … one day, when they've got enough money saved up, they'll buy a little place of their own. (Note: mature themes 15+)
Season dates: Thursday, 19th to Saturday, 21st and Wed, 25th to Saturday, 28th at 7.30 pm (finishing at 10 pm). Matinees both Saturdays at 2 pm (finishing at 4.30 pm). There is a 20-minute interval. All shows are at The Arts Theatre, 53 Angas Street, Adelaide with convenient on-street and nearby off-street parking at affordable rates.
Note re themes: Of Mice and Men is a product of its time and place (the 1930s in the USA) and depicts racial and ethnic prejudices which, regrettably, were then commonplace. These racist depictions and views were wrong then; they are wrong today. To create a more just, equitable and inclusive future, we must first acknowledge and understand our history. This play is presented as it was orginally created.
