SYN's Radio Announcer Training involves a two hour session, covering information about SYN Media, media law and preparation techniques for live radio. There is some group work within this session, where new volunteers come up with content ideas together. Additionally, there are a number of online module components to be completed autonomously outside of the supervised training. 

The SYN Induction program also involves a Studio Training session, where you will be welcomed into the SYN Studios, learn how to use our studio's tech and how to broadcast radio. Once booked in, participants will receive a confirmation email with information about booking their studio training. This training is available within the same day or month of radio announcer training and is 1.5 hours long.

Studio Training is run in small groups, with each volunteer getting guided time with a trainer. Studio training includes: a 20-30 minute guided run-through of the operating panel and radio automation system, followed by practise time with your group of up to three participants. During this time, the trainer will be on call to answer questions. 

NOTE: SYN Media is a youth media organisation. To volunteer at SYN, you must be aged between 12-25.
