This concert features two contrasting works for solo female voice. Dvorak’s cycle idealizes the bond between humans and nature, and Adelaide’s Josh van Konkelenberg re-tells Ovid’s Metamorphoses legend from Daphne’s tragic perspective. Set in a forest, and torn between dream, myth, and reality, the work portrays the schism between what we want and how the world truly is. In addition to composing the centrepiece work, Josh van Konkelenberg performs as associate art
