This 20hr, 2 day In-Person, COVID-Safe, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Foundation Workshop for up to 21 participants, will introduce you to the foundations, core concepts and applications of the highly regarded, evidence based yoga program, TC-TSY, for adults and youth affected by PTSD, CPTSD, developmental, and/or complex trauma, dissociative disorders and other related emotional and behavioural difficulties. Developed at the Trauma Center since 2003, a part of Justice Resource Institute, JRI since 2006 & the flagship program of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at JRI.
This workshop is interactive and is intended to: inspire yoga teachers to make their classes more trauma-aware & to support health providers and support people to bring the body into treatment when working with people affected by traumatic stress and complex trauma.
You will be introduced to specific practices and principles to support you to facilitate movement & breath work that are trauma aware, trauma-sensitive and trauma-informed, including an introduction to:
• Trauma Theory, Attachment Theory and Neuroscience (Interoceptive Theory)
• Neurophysiology & Biology of Stress and Trauma (How Trauma Impacts the Brain)
• Spectrum of Trauma Impacts & Complex Trauma as Lived Experience
• Power and Oppression
• Key Elements of TCTSY Methodology
• Building Trauma Sensitive Relationships
• TCTSY Practice and Practice Facilitation
• Challenges in Implementing TCTSY
• Overview of Studies on TCTSY
TSY WORKSHOP In-Person DELIVERY in a COVID-Safe environment: An exciting interactive learning environment that is 2 days in-person for up to 21 participants with extra pre-workshop online material to keep! Venue is at Downward Duck and Co, Springvale, Victoria https://www.downwardduck.co/
You will receive:
- 2 days of in-person training with a Licensed TCTSY-Trainer Kristen Pringle (currently only 20 worldwide)
- Over 9 hours of online content to review and keep! Including: PPT slide handouts; nearly 4 hours of pre-workshop video content (including David Emerson & Jenn Turner pre-recorded workshop training videos, TSY practice videos from TCTSY Trainers and Certification Supervisors and more); TCTSY scripts; written resource material & links
Pre-recorded material will be released to you on the 15/5/2021

The payment scale is based on your self-determined access to resources, privilege, social capital, and your current financial situation due to the global pandemic

If paying in one lump sum is not accessible for you at this time, payment plans are available.
Additionally, there are two 50% scholarships available for participants who are experiencing significant finanacial difficulty.

NOTE: As we send you out pre-workshop material a week prior to the workshop on the 15th May 2021 (that is the property of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at JRI), we are unable to refund you in whole, if you cancel from the 15th May 2021. However, If the workshop, or your attendance is unable to proceed due to COVID restrictions, you will be offered your choice of attendance at the November Melbourne workshop, to attend a workshop via online delivery, and if these alternatives are not possible, a full refund.
TC-TSY is the ONLY yoga program that has been recognised as a clinical adjunctive treatment for trauma in the USA by SAMSHA:NREPP, which is uniquely why this trauma-sensitive yoga workshop will assist you!

This workshop is facilitated by TCTSY JRI Licensed Trainer, Kristen Pringle,(TCTSY-F, TCTSY-T, TCTSY Certification Supervisor, Yoga Therapist (IAYT), Registered Senior Yoga Teacher (Yoga Australia), E-RYT-200 & YACEP (Yoga Alliance), Senior Mental Health Clinician & Occupational Therapist (OTAUS), this workshop is part of The Center of Trauma & Embodiment at JRI Yoga Program, and therefore is the ONLY Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Workshop/trainings accredited by JRI & the Director of the Center for Trauma & Embodiment at JRI David Emerson.
