- Provide an understanding of the underlying research outcomes
- Outline the core components of DBT and the functions of each
- To provide an understanding of DBT orientation and commitment strategies
- To teach the assessment and management of suicidal and self-harming behaviour from a DBT perspective.
- To provide an introduction to chain analysis and how to use this in treatment
- To provide an introduction to how behavioural interventions can be utilised in individual therapy
** This workshop is designed to provide an overview and opportunity to practice core components of DBT. It is not expected that participants will feel confident in implementing a DBT program after attending this workshop, but participants will have the opportunity to consider whether DBT may be a treatment that they wish to add to their skillset. Opportunities for additional training will be discussed if participants are interested.
